Deception and False Teachers

 We are living in a time where everyone has a platform to speak on the internet, which then makes deception and false teachings so much of a problem today.

As the Word says we have to beware of the wolves in sheep’s clothing, which simply means there a spirit of deception operating within a person.

1 John 4: 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Deception is something that looks like the right thing, but it’s not.

The deceptions we need to look out for are:

• Legalism
• Another Jesus/ False Jesus

Legalism is to think we can deserve our salvation if we do certain things.

This will create an opening for spirits such as:

• Performance spirit
• Fear of rejection spirit; fear of abandonment
• Controlling spirit ( People who like control, are open to deception)
• Self – preservation spirit
• Religious spirit
• Judgmental spirit
