God's Relationship Testkit Part 1

God's Relationship Testkit Part 1

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 23 July 2021

Have you ever experienced a moment where you are talking to someone, and before you’re done with what you wanted to say or discuss, the person walks away attending to something else, or picking up their phone, like you and what you’re discussing or saying isn’t really important or valued? We tend to do this with God. I’m sure God can relate as we tend to do this with Him. We don’t stay long enough in His presence to find out what He wants us to see. Many times the things that He wants to share with us are very critical for us to receive. Not receiving it because we weren’t waiting on Him, can make life harder for us than what it needs to be. God created the meaning of life within the following: - Motive The reason why we do something is what God looks at. The motive will reveal the reason for doing what you want to do. The motivation should be from pure motives. Sometimes time plays a factor in revealing the real motive of our heart. - Conscience Do we follow our conscience as He speaks to us? - Time How much time do we spend with Him? The amount of time we spent with Him reveals our longing to be with Him and in the relationship. It’s how we make room for the Holy Spirit. - Sacrifice How much are we willing to give up for God? Sacrifice proofs the hunger we have for Him It shows our respect and fear of God - Tests Do we pass the tests? We’ll maybe have to say “no” to things and people are maybe not going to like us because of that. There will be obedience tests where we should be dead to ourselves. Are we on fire or lukewarm? When we walk with God, the tests aren’t difficult. We then know He wants everything FOR US. It’s for us that we have to listen to Him. Psalm 139: 23 – 24 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. - Is there any idol in our hearts? - Is there anything in me that You don’t like? - Is there anything that takes Your place in my life?
