Sanctification Part 1

Sanctification Part 1

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 28 June 2021

Sanctification means “to be made holy”. This is a process which everyone one of us are in everyday. The enemy always attempts to distract us, and move away from this journey. In the season we face now, he tries to keep the church distracted with a lot of end time preaching. While more than ever, we should be preaching and focusing on being in right standing with God. Unknowingly, many in the Body of Christ is taking hands with a spirit of distraction, instead of just yielding to the Holy Spirit. Yes, the distractions can even be in the end time messages. We should stay in God, who is Life, and know that in Him we have eternal life. We need to focus on what God wants to say, instead of staying updated all the time with what the prophets have to say. The enemy’s mission is to shut you up, slow you down and stop your mission. So just focus on staying connected to God. At this moment, are you one with Christ? Do you still share in His heart? Do you seek His Kingdom and Righteousness above all else? These things are more important than anything else. Matthew 5: 47 - 48 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Our aim should be - To be like our Heavenly Father. It’s to aim for perfection as we move through the sanctification process. This is all possible because of His Grace, and the Holy Spirit guiding us. Sanctification happens through confession, repentance, and the washing with the Blood of Jesus. Renewal of the mind is also very important in this process. Your continuous right decisions will eventually change your direction. Growing in this process of sanctification will require discipline also. John 14: 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. See that the devil can have a hold over people, and the reason he had no hold over Jesus was because He was and is Holy. Even as a person on Earth. He was completely clean and pure before God. But we have to see and allow the Holy Spirit to show us if the devil has something on us. If we need to confess and repent somewhere. This is part of the process. Hebrews 12: 14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. To be and stay holy in the Lord, is to stay close to Him. By staying washed and clean. We have to move with Jesus. Wherever He is, we should be. Lastly, Love in the New Testament is obedience to God. Because we love Him, we walk close to Him and obey Him. We know that all He asks us to do, is for our good.
