The Secret Place of the Most High
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we want to get into the secret place.
• We start from the outside.
With thanksgiving and praise we enter His courts.
• We enter the outer – court, which is where we confess and be cleansed. Before we can enter the Holy place, we must be cleansed first. We must also bring our offering in the outer – court.
Us coming together in His presence, presenting ourselves and our worship as an offering, and cleansing ourselves, is what is needed to go into the Holy place.
• The Holy Place is our soul dimension;
It’s where we have revelation of the Word of God.
We have the Holy Spirit that connects our knowledge, and what He wants us to see.
• The Holy of Holies is in the Spirit.
This is where we want to be as much as possible.
Exodus 30: 17 – 21
17 The LORD said to Moses, 18 “You shall also make a basin of bronze, with its stand of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it, 19 with which Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet. 20 When they go into the tent of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn a food offering[d] to the LORD, they shall wash with water, so that they may not die. 21 They shall wash their hands and their feet, so that they may not die. It shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his offspring throughout their generations.”
This is what it looks like – God wants us to be clean when we approach Him.
Through the Blood of Jesus is how we get cleansed. As we confess and repent, we receive His blood sacrifice which cleanses us from all our sins.
This is the foundation of any revival – it’s when people humble themselves, confess and repent, when people really turn to God.
Psalm 24: 3 – 6
3 Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.
5 They will receive the LORD’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.
6 Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.
The mountain of the Lord is the secret place and where we need to stay.
Those with pure hearts and clean hands may enter it.
Psalm 26: 5 – 8
5 I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O LORD,
7 singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your wonders.
8 I love your sanctuary, LORD, THE place where your glorious presence dwells.
See that David knew how it worked.
We remove ourselves from wickedness, we repent, and be cleansed; then we sing songs of thanksgiving and praise; so, shall we enter His Holy of Holies (where God’s glorious presence dwells).
God is like an earthly father – when you are thankful and appreciates what He’s doing for you, then by nature He wants to bless you even more.
James 4: 8 – 10
8 Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery].
9 [As you draw near to God] be deeply penitent and grieve, even weep [over your disloyalty]. Let your laughter be turned to grief and your mirth to dejection and heartfelt shame [for your sins].
10 Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].
God already came close to us by sending His Son to the cross for us. It’s our turn now to come close to Him. He made the way for us. We must only recognize that He has done this and then come to Him.
This is coming in under God by submitting to His will. Such as forgiving others; repenting and seeking to enter His Holy of Holies.
We usually think we have to sort things and ourselves out first, before God can pick us up out of our mess, but God says “Come to me, humbly, so that I can pick you up.”
Psalm 27: 5
5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock.
See that in Christ we are hidden. We are not hiding yet we are hidden.
Colossians 3: 3 – 4
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
See the picture: It’s like taking a book, then taking a smaller piece of paper and putting in it that book. It’s hidden in there. That’s how our life is suppose to look. Hidden in Christ. Nobody can see the paper in the book when they look at the book. They just see the book. When the enemy comes, he doesn’t see you. He only sees Jesus. So if you go into the secret place, your life is hidden in Christ.
Also see that Jesus must be our life.
