2 Corinthians 5: 17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!
This scripture is talking about our spirit, not our mind. Many people/churches will use this scripture out of context and say this is the complete person. But it’s not, because why would scripture also say that we have to renew our mind if it’s then also new now?
Our minds must be renewed – There is a lot of things in our mind that can cost us a lot, even as a born-again Christian.
We find this a lot – People are captive in their mind; they have blocks and all kinds of stuff in their mind.
MindSETS – Minds are set in a certain way. This is done from childhood as we go through life.
Romans 12: 2
2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
We have to be open for transformation in our complete mind. The conscious and subconscious mind.
2 Corinthians 2: 10 – 11
10 If you forgive anyone anything, I too forgive that one; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sakes in the presence of Christ.11 To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.
Verse 11 says we have to know how the enemy works and what he is able to do to a Christian. This is a big question we have to ask: “What is he able to do?”
Christians/people aren’t necessarily demon possessed, but many are definitely under demonic influence.
Many people are also trapped inside their mind. To them it’s the only place that’s safe.
In hard times the devil comes as a counterfeit comforter with suggestions to protect yourself. For example – a Lady told me the other day that she went through so much abuse as a child, but she felt very ashamed of it. To cover up the shame, she would fight with people whenever she felt ashamed during a situation of conflict, instead of being able to reason and work the matter through. The devil gave her this suggestion, making her think that fighting them won’t reveal the shame she feels. That shame is a very bad thing.
We had to counsel her to where she had to put these fighting gloves down and pick up the Sword of the Spirit.
Proverbs 6: 28
Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
People do things like this scripture says. The enemy convince people that doing such wrong things won’t harm them, but of course, it’s a lie. His suggestions are always harmful.
