Grace and Sonship v3

Once a person understands this topic, they can be at peace in their walk with God. We must get dressed/clothed with Christ and the Word of God and what He says about me.

Understand that you are made in God’s image. You are supernatural.

As a son of God, I don’t believe that God wants us to beg Him for basic things; if you know who you are you then know what belongs to you.

Some Christians have this reality where they basically live under a bridge, but just a block away there is a will and testament that says they have inherited everything they need and more through Jesus. But because they don’t know about it, they don’t claim it.

Genesis 1: 26

²⁶ Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,^[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Image: Spirit. As God is Spirit, so are we.  But also, our bodily form.

Likeness: Another speaking spirit.

As God speaks things into existence, so do I. This is actually our nature.

Matthew 7: 21 – 23

²¹ “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ ²³ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

This means that “we are not a like”. We must be like our Father. Jesus said “if you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father”.  He tells us to love like He loves.

If we don’t conform to this way and become like Him, we are not in fellowship with Him. Jesus is also saying “you were made in my likeness, but you are not like Me.”

1 Thessalonians 5: 23 – 24

²³ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify^[g] you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

God will help you to be blameless, preserved and clean. Without God’s help nothing of this is possible. For us to be clean and sanctified is not a pressure placed on us. We have His help. As we spend time with Him, He produces these things within us.

1 John 1: 5

⁵ This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 

We are made in His image, and He is light. In Matthew 5: 14 He says that we are the light of the world. We are representing God here on earth.
