This day is about celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ=anointing or anointed one
Mas= celebration
We are celebrating the fact that the Father has sent us, His Anointing and Anointed One, who now enables us, to become who we were made to be.
The Birth of Christ brought God to man, and the cross of Christ brought man to God.
When Jesus was born, everything changed in this world.
Now, when we become reborn, everything changes for us. We are not the same anymore. That’s what took place when God sent His Son to earth. He created an opportunity and a way for us to come back to the Father.
What started with Adam, finished with Jesus.
Jesus also came to restore our identity. We are sons and daughters of God because of Jesus.
Hebrews 11: 3
By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.
So, what you see at this moment, was made from the invisible. It started with the Word of God, and was made manifest for our eyes now to see.
This is also how Jesus was conceived – By the words of the angel that came from God to Mary, she then became pregnant.
Mary got conceived by the Word God, she got pregnant by the Word of God, she became pregnant with the Word of God, then gave birth to the Word of God.
What are we pregnant with? Because surely you will give birth to it. Because the thing you say, is the thing you’re going to see.
Luke 1: 26 – 38
In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[b] the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
I want you to see a few things:
- Mary got conceived by the Holy Spirit
- Mary just agreed and received the Word
There’re some things you have to agree with. When God says something, you have to come into agreement.
A lot of us wants to fight with God when we go through troubled times. But when we accept what God says even during the troubled time, it’s a different story. Like the angel left after Mary accepted the Word, your package can also be delivered and the deal is sealed. If you resist it, it can’t come.
See the parallel here:
God put His breath into Adam.
God did so with Jesus. The first Adam is a shadow of the last Adam (Jesus). Jesus came to do what the first Adam couldn’t do. Like: Guard the garden; take authority and take rulership.
